Kuala Lumpur: Doing business in Malaysia

The summer school “Doing Business in Malaysia” is a 2-week course that can substitute an elective or a compulsory course in your study programme. This summer school is focused on the issues that international companies meet when they plan to do business in Malaysia. The subject content is related to business and communication and you will get knowledge about the Malaysian market and be able to use your knowledge to analyse the market opportunities seen from an international company’s point of view.
The subject consists of introductions to:
- History and culture
- Market conditions
- Industry, finance and company structure in Malaysia
- Emerging trends
Lecturing is based on theory that is carried out in practice-based cases and company visits. Besides getting experience with studying abroad, you will be introduced to working across disciplines with students from different educational backgrounds.

The course takes place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The dates of this summer school will be from 4 August - 15 August 2025.
The summer school is offered in collaboration with a local Malaysian university, Uni KL

Who can join?
The summer school is ideal for students who want to incorporate a different academic or cultural experience in their educational profile. The course is offered to students from various educational programmes at Business Academy Aarhus and students from Uni KL.
Besides getting experience with studying abroad, you will be introduced to work across disciplines with students from different educational backgrounds.

Insurance
In order to participate in a summer school, you must have insurance covering health and repatriation (travel to your home country in case of emergency or illness). Health insurance is not covered by the Blue or the Yellow card.
Allergies/medical conditions
The Academy cannot guarantee that your allergies (food or otherwise) or any existing medical conditions can be accommodated. It is your responsibility to research your destination.
Financial issues
The tuition fee for the course is financed by Business Academy Aarhus. You must pay all other expenses in connection with your stay in Malaysia.

If you are offered a place on this summer school, a non-refundable prepayment (ca. 2,500 DKK) must be paid in approximately mid-March in order to ensure your registration. This amount pays for your accommodation without breakfast, some local transportation as well as some meals during the summer school. As soon as you have been accepted into the summer school, you should book your flights!
When you go abroad, you have to consider the following:
- Valid passport
- Visa (Check um.dk to see, if it is necessary)
- Vaccinations, especially Covid (all 3 vaccinations!) (Please see ssi.dk or contact your doctor)
