Tokyo: International finance in Japan
28 July to 8 August 2025.
This summer school is a two-week course that can substitute an elective course in your study programme. It is ideal for Finance students or students with a particular interest in finance who want to learn about one of the world's financial centres and add a different type of elective to their educational profile.
Japan is one of the biggest economies in the world, and Tokyo is one of the world's great financial centres. Participating in this summer school will give you first-hand experience with this hot spot in the world economy. You will also learn a lot about different aspects of finance, Japanese business and Japanese culture.
The summer school will include:
- A focus on the ESG agenda from both a Japanese and a Danish/European perspective
- Company visits to Japanese financial institutions, for example
- Lectures on Macroeconomic Issues in Japan, the Japanese labour market etc.
- An introduction to Japanese Business Culture (which is very different from Danish business culture!)
- A workshop with students from the Academy and students from the local university. The workshop will focus on the ESG agenda for both European and Japanese companies
Where and when
The course will take place in Tokyo. The summer school will take place from Monday 28 July to Friday 8 August 2025.
Partner institution: Showa Women's University, Tokyo Japan
Who can join?
The course is offered to students from all the financial programmes (FIBA/FIMA, FINØ, FICO) at Business Academy Aarhus. But this summer school is also ideal for students from other programmes who want to incorporate a different academic or cultural experience in their educational profile.
Find your programme and see if you can get credit transfer for participating in this summer school.
If you can get credit transfer – that is, if the summer school can partly or fully substitute a subject in your programme – your participation in the summer school is free.
