Access to buildings, level-free access

Access to buildings, outside normal opening hours

You have access to our buildings 24/7.

Your student card is a key card that gives you access outside of normal opening hours.

Access may be closed during major parties, holidays, etc.

Here you have access

Outside our normal opening hours, you only have access to common group facilities, the canteen area and the library at Sønderhøj 30.

You do NOT have access to the classrooms.

How to get access

Activate the card reader at the outer door by holding your student card up in front of the card reader
Enter your code + E
The outer door unlocks and the alarm in the building's common areas goes off. You have now "bought" 2 hours during which the alarm is deactivated
After 2 hours, the alarm system starts beeping. You must now either leave the building within 4 minutes - or you must "buy" another 2 hours on one of the alarm system's card readers. These card readers will both beep and flash

In case of alarm

If the alarm is activated by mistake, a guard will arrive within approximately 1 hour. The building can be left before the guard arrives.

Basement – café, bar and lounge

Basement is our student bar. The place for group work, the place for one-on-one time with your fellow students and the place for a party – for all students, but also available as the perfect venue for your party.

You will find Basement in the basement under Sønderhøj 30, wing A.

Monday to Friday, Basement is open from 8.00-16.00. Here you can meet fellow students in quiet and cozy surroundings. You can hold group meetings, use the place as a reading room or just hang out.

On Thursday and Friday, the bar is open in Basement from 11.30. You can enjoy everything from a cup of coffee to beer and drinks. Table football, beer pong and a large selection of board games are also available - and in general, Basement is always open for suggestions for activities and competitions, etc.

Basement is open to students every weekday from 8.00-16.00.

On Thursdays and Fridays the bar opens at 11.30.

Books: Rules for copying and sharing

There are clear rules for copying and sharing textbooks - regardless of whether they are your own printed books, e-books or borrowed books.

Here is an overview of the rules:

You may copy an entire printed book, you have bought or borrowed – but only for your own use
You may scan 30 pages (however max 20%) of a printed book you have bought or borrowed
You may print an entire e-book, you have bought yourself from a bookshop or publisher – but only for your own use
You may print 30 pages (however maximum 20%) of an e-book you have borrowed
If you digitise a printed text, the same rules apply as for e-books
You may share digital texts (e.g. e-books or scanned printed texts) with your fellow students via for example Canvas - but still only 30 pages (however max 20%) of the entire book
Remember that an e-book and audio book, etc. have the same copyright as software. This means that your access to the material is personal, and therefore you must not share any material electronically (either for free or for a fee).

Please note that when the material specifically states that it may not be copied (e.g. Standards from Dansk Standard), it must never be shared - not even in printed format.

CREATE – makers lab

CREATE is our makers lab for students. The lab supports development primarily within 3D modeling and 3D printing.

CREATE is primarily student driven and is therefore also intended as a place where you can meet other students with an interest in technology and prototypes.

In CREATE you will find different types of 3D printers with the ability to print in different colors and material types.

Opening hours

CREATE is open Monday to Friday from 12.00-14.00. Here you can meet students who can help you.

You will find CREATE at Sønderhøj 30, 1st floor above the canteen (by the library).

Student card

Your student card is your identification when you are at the Academy.

Your student card is also a key card that gives you access to Business Academy Aarhus’ buildings outside of normal opening hours.

You must use the student card every time you print/copy and as your ID for exams.

In addition, you can use your student card for other situations when you need to prove that you are a student - e.g. when you want to get student discounts on public transport, at museums, cinemas, bars and at many other places.

During the first weeks of your programme, the student cards will be distributed per class.

I have lost my student card

If you lose your student card, you need a new one.

A new student card costs 200 DKK.

You must contact the reception at Sønderhøj 30. Here you will receive a link for payment. You agree with the reception when your new card will be ready.

Webshop for logo wear

If you want to buy clothing with the academy's logo, it must be ordered via our webshop.

You can choose between different t-shirts and hoodies in both men's and women's sizes. See the models in the webshop.
