Policy for offensive behaviour

All employees at Business Academy Aarhus are covered by the decorum for public employees in the state  [1].

Good-natured banter that is mutual is allowed. In this context, there may be limits that are difficult to evaluate or predict. Therefore, Business Academy Aarhus encourages an open dialogue about personal boundaries and expects a respectful and professional approach.

Offensive behaviour must always be understood according to the specific situation. Initially, Business Academy Aarhus will listen to the perspective of the affected person for any enquiry. It is the responsibility of everyone to use appropriate situational awareness and common sense, recognising and understanding that moods, boundaries, perspectives, etc., may vary. At Business Academy Aarhus, mutual respect is a matter of course.

[1] Ministerial Order 511 from 18/05/2017 - §10 (only in Danish): Officials must conscientiously observe the rules applicable to their position and must, both during and outside of service, conduct themselves with the honour and dignity worthy of their position.

What is offensive behaviour?

The behaviour described below is considered unacceptable at Business Academy Aarhus. This applies to all employees, guest employees and students.

The description is indicative, and there may also be other forms of offensive behaviour that are deemed unacceptable between, or by, people affiliated with Business Academy Aarhus (including, for example, external examiners or internship hosts).

What can I do if I feel offended?

Everyone should feel safe at the Academy.

We expect all students, employees and other involved people (e.g. external examiners) to have respectful behaviour and a good tone of voice.

If you have been offended anyway, you must get help.

At the Academy, you can have a conversation regardless of the nature or extent of the offence - we take all conversations very seriously, and they are all conducted with complete confidentiality.

If you wish to make a complaint, you cannot remain anonymous to the person the complaint is about. Nor can you expect to know what is happening in the case. Please trust that we will take your enquiry seriously, investigate the matter thoroughly and take the necessary actions.

We will never proceed with a case without your consent. In other words, you can contact one of the following and talk the matter through before you decide what to do next.
