SU and SPS

If you want to apply for additional funding, you must first create an application on minSU (only in Danish) and save the receipt page.

Next, upload the following documentation in the online form below:

• The receipt page from your application on minSU
• Medical documentation (if you have been ill) that indicates the actual period of illness
• Documentation of the special circumstances if you have not been able to fulfil the obligations of your programme
• Your own explanation

Your request is managed via our SDBF system, where you log in with MitID. Once you have logged in, you can change the form language to English.

If you want to study a semester abroad at a self-selected institution, you must initially cover the tuition fees. You can, however, apply for a freemover grant to cover the fees, or part of the fees.

The freemover grant only applies to educational institutions which Business Academy Aarhus does not have an agreement with, and for which you cannot apply for ERASMUS funding.

You must fulfil several criteria to apply for a freemover grant. You must be eligible for SU (the Danish student grant system), and you must have your study stay approved for credit by Business Academy Aarhus (so that the semester abroad replaces a semester in your programme).

In the freemover grant scheme, funding is transferred abroad with the student. This is why students must do most of the work themselves in the application process.

How to apply

You start by filling out the following two documents:

Next, you must apply and upload the following documentation on the online form below:

As a dyslexic, you can experience many challenges, such as difficulties with:

• remembering what you read
• managing all your reading and writing tasks
• getting from thoughts to a written product
• having structure in written tasks
• expressing yourself accurately in writing

Do you suspect that you are dyslexic? Then you can take a test – and based on the test results, receive support, aids and assistance.

As a rule, you cannot get support and aids and assistance if you have a dyslexia test with a result in the yellow category. But you can have an additional test done.

This is how you find your test again:

• Log in to ordblindetest.dk (only in Danish) with MitID and look for your dyslexia test
• If you cannot find your test, you need to contact the educational institution that did the test
• If you still cannot get your test, you can order a new one from us

If you already have aids and assistance for your dyslexia from a previous Danish educational programme, you can have the devices transferred to your new programme with us.

However, you can only have the devices transferred if you start your new education within three months of completing your previous education. Alternatively, you will need to reapply - see below.

Before you apply, please read about the possibilities for aids and assistance and support below and consider what you need.

You must apply online - whether you want a dyslexia test or you want to order aids and assistance.

If you order aids and assistance or support, this is the process:

• The aids and assistance are ordered from the Agency
• The Agency sends a consent form to you via your Digital postbox. You must sign the consent form with MitID as soon as possible. The application will only proceed in the system once you have signed.
• You will receive your authorisation via your Digital postbox. The authorisation says that you should contact your SPS counsellor. You do not need this - we know that your approval has been granted 
• You can now access your aids and assistance and support, see below

• IntoWords: A username and password will be sent to your Academy email.
• Introduction to Intowords: You will be contacted by IKH (Institut for Kommunikation og Handicap)
• Nota: Once you have received the grant via your Digital postbox, you can order textbooks from NOTA
• Study support hours: You will be contacted by IKH (Institut for Kommunikation og Handicap) for your first meeting

IntoWords is your reading and writing partner. The program can prepare texts for reading, read texts aloud, provide word suggestions, and convert your speech to text.

If you have not worked with IntoWords before, we recommend that you have an introduction to IntoWords.

You can order the introduction through us, but you will get it from the Institut for Kommunikation og Handicap (IKH)

NOTA is an online library where you can find and order e-books – including novels, textbooks and study books. You can use NOTA as soon as you have received your authorisation via your Digital postbox.

If the book you need is not in NOTA - then you can order it. Do this as soon as possible.

Study books in NOTA are locked

To avoid illegal sharing, study books in NOTA are locked. They can only be opened with a code or in a specific app.

Get support

If you have problems with NOTA, please contact NOTA's Study Service (only in Danish)

With study support hours, you can get help to structure and with study techniques. Study support hours may include, for example:

• Reading strategies
• Good advice for writing assignments
• Note-taking techniques

The support takes place at Region Midt, Evalds Krogs Gade 6A.

If you have a documented physical or mental functional impairment (e.g. dyslexia, ADHD, etc.), you can also apply for special exam conditions. For example, you can apply for extra time for an exam or permission to use special aids and assistance

Ordlab.dk (only in Danish) contains more than 400 video tutorials for reading and writing technology. There are video guides for the reading and writing technology, which the Styrelsen for Undervisning og Kvalitet grants under the SPS scheme, but there are also guides for a wide range of other technologies that can supplement the granted reading and writing technology.

Access to Ordlab does not require a grant - all students have automatic access. 

How to log in:

• Choose WAYF
• Find Business Academy Aarhus on the list of institutions
• Enter your student ID + the password you use on Canvas

There are more than 300 dyslexic students on Business Academy Aarhus’ higher education programmes. In the network group, you can meet and follow other dyslexic students' examples, share experiences and learn from others’ strategies.

The network meets about 2-3 times a year with one or more academic topics – and coffee and cake. The network is facilitated by an SPS guidance counsellor.

You will receive information about the meetings on Canvas – or via your Academy email if you are already in the network.

The network also has a Facebook group that you can join.
